Christmas
at the Phoenix Center
For the past few years the Eastside Neighborhood
Association has been donating money to help Paterson's children
at Christmas.
In previous years the money has gone to the children at the Phoenix
Center, a school for children with Autism and other learning disabilities.
This year we were able to add some of the children from St. Therese's
which is right in our neighborhood. They also have children there
who have had difficulties over the past year. St. Therese's has
always been generous to us when we needed their meeting room so
it was nice that we could help their children this year also.
We do not have pictures of the children from St. Therese's getting
their presents because they were picked up by their families to
be distributed for their own Christmas celebration.
The Phoenix Center has embraced us as one of their own during
their special time when Santa visits the children. When he arrives
at the school and quickly passes out presents to each of the children,
it is a very moving experience to see the joy in their faces.
We are fortunate to be able to photograph this special event and
bring the photo's back to you. I want each of you to be able to
enjoy this special moment and the true meaning of giving for the
holidays.
For those of you who donated money to our Holiday Project we want
to thank each and everyone who made this special event possible.
